Dennis Correia Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Dennis Correia named construction services Entrepreneur of the Year

Devonshire, BM, July 5, 2012, Dennis Correia, CEO of Correia Construction, has been named Worldwide Who’s Who® Entrepreneur of the Year in Construction Services. While inclusion in the Worldwide Who’s Who® Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who’s Who® selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

When he was younger, Dennis Correia would spend summers working with his father at his construction business. These memories later inspired him to start what would ultimately become an empire in the field, charged with projects ranging up to $52 million. Today, Dennis celebrates 38 years in company with Correia Construction as its CEO, recognized for his expertise in structural engineering. He provides technical design, project management, commercial building, demolition and marine construction for private enterprises, governmental sectors and residential clients. Correia Construction also has land-based and water-based pile driving capabilities, heavy lift and transport capabilities and the ability to create man-made beaches.

With Correia Construction, Dennis has worked on several impressive projects including the $52 million Heritage Wharf for the Bermuda government. He also consults on a regular basis for the U.S. government and has worked on such projects as the Swing Bridge and the Longbird Bridge concerning mechanical failures. He also played an instrumental role in the design and build of the Fast Ferry Docks and Terminals, the Hamilton Depot, the Hamilton Terminal, Rockaway, Dockyard and St. Georges. He has rendered consulting services to the Department of Environment, the Department of Air Operations, Danac Inc., the HMS Royal Navy for the removal of hazardous materials at a nuclear submarine docking facility, and Dolphin Quest U.S.A. for the complete design and build of the Dolphin Quest Facility at Fairmont Southampton Princess Bermuda, to name a few.

Additionally, Dennis oversaw the construction of an oil tanker berthing facility for Esso – Exxon Mobile. He more recently consulted as an engineer in Cuba, Florida, Turks & Caicos and the Bahamas in respect to breakwaters, commercial docks and marinas.

Equipped to design and construct all land and water jobs, Dennis has built a reputation based on virtue and excellent problem-solving capabilities. Dennis Correia holds a degree in engineering from George Brown University and maintains active affiliation with the Pile Driving Contractors Association, the Bermuda Sailing Association, the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club and the North Village Soccer Club.
